Cody, You’ll Be Missed (and Casey, Too) Michigan’s Wine Country
Sep 03

Very Good Taste, a blog about eating and drinking, recently posted a list of 100 food items they feel every omnivore should try in their lifetime. Truly, I’m not sure why some of these items are on the list and others aren’t, but hey, it’s one person’s list and it’s fun. I’m still working on my next Chicago post, but since I’m seeing so much of this list, and I still haven’t sorted my Chicago pictures, this jumps the queue.

The instructions:

  1. Copy this list into your blog or journal, including these instructions.
  2. Bold all the items you’ve eaten.
  3. Cross out any items that you would never consider eating.
  4. Optional extra: Post a comment at Very Good Taste linking to your results.

If you do this, I’d also love to see a link in the comments here so I can check out your list.

Jen’s List - any of my own comments are in italics.

I’m kind of surprised I’ve only tried 56.5. Looks like I’ve got some work to do. There’s really not much that I would rule out tasting once - even roadkill, horse, and a fat cigar - even if they’re not high on my to-do list.

  1. Ilana says:

You make a good point on the roadkill. If its nice and fresh, I’ll agree. But if its bloated…

  2. jenifer says:

No, if I didn’t see the roadkill die, I can’t see myself eating unless death was imminent. I’m willing to try just about anything, but . . .

  3. Pam says:

I gave up on the credibility of this list after #6. Four strikes and you’re out.

P.S. Nice to see you blogging again!

  4. jenifer says:

Pam - Picky eater, or just against really gross stuff? And which four of those six were crossed off for you?

I keep starting posts for here, so I have a bunch of drafts, but I’m planning a trip for this weekend, so I keep putting things off. On the plus side, when I get back I can blog about a weekend visiting wineries. Awesome (drink)!
