What do you do when you accidentally get a tuna can lid stuck firmly in your kitchen sink drain?

Well, first your husband comes in and asks where “that suction cup” is. You think for a minute trying to figure out what on Earth he’s talking about, then realize he must mean the suction cup from your bath pillow that has lived in various rooms over the past two weeks because Lila thinks it’s a fabulous toy. You tell him you have no idea, ask the cat.

Then you come up with an absolutely genius idea. You grab the corkscrew from the kitchen drawer, puncture the tuna can lid, twist the corkscrew in a little, and pull. Voila! (Wiffers - like the foreign language skills?) Lid is removed.

I have no photographs to accompany the story, but let me just say that I was pretty darn proud of my problem solving skills. :)

PS - I’m back from Tallahassee. Had a fabulous time. Photos (including a puppy!) and stories soon.

You adopted a puppy? And already have a cat? This should make for many topics.

Perhaps the disappearance of the suction cup and the stuck lid was carefully plotted by Lila. Was there any tuna left after you retrieved the tuna can lid?

    Gross biscuits!

Not my puppy, unfortunately. He’s my brother’s. Though we do have a dog and two cats. Both cats love the dog. Not so much with the loving each other.

And thankfully the tuna had already been eaten by us for dinner, though I’m sure one or both of the cats licked the lid clean and was responsible for wedging it in the drain.

    Genius!

Files this story into the “note to self” category.
