Tallahassee, Here We Come Combining Engineering and Wine
May 01

I was reading in my back yard yesterday evening and was sufficiently stunned by the number of blooming things that I felt compelled to share. It’s barely spring from a gardening perspective, but so many things jumped at the chance to show off as soon as temperatures warmed up. What’s blooming in my yard right now:

  • tulips
  • daffodils
  • hyacinth
  • quince
  • redbud tree
  • cherry tree
  • serviceberry trees
  • grapes
  • vinca
  • bleeding heart
  • dandelions

And on deck (plus probably several I’ve forgotten about):

  • peonies
  • chives
  • allium (many kinds)
  • lilacs
  • rhododendrons
  • azaleas
  • clover
  • irises
  • dandelions (persistent buggers)

When this next round is in bloom I’ll post more pictures. And as spring becomes summer there will be a whole new “on deck” list to look forward to. I love nature.

Wahhh!!! You’re going to come home one day to find me in your backyard, rolling in your plants.

You’ll have Cody for company then. He likes to roll in everything in the garden. The tulips like it a little less.

Wow! Your yard must be gorgeous. I’m jealous of your grapes and cherries. We planted a cherry tree a year and a half ago, but although we’ve had blooms we still haven’t had any cherries. Maybe this year.
